HEALTHY TRAVEL
At Viettours, traveler safety has been our top priority for more than 18 years. We constantly monitor the issuance of Travel Warnings and Public Announcements from the U.S. State Department and the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs. Viettours will continue to run all scheduled departures unless otherwise advised, and help travelers who might be affected by delays and other security inconveniences however we can.
We strongly advise that you review your departing airport’s website and arrive earlier than usual for your flight. Due to heightened security, it may take longer to check-in, clear security and reach your departure gate. Review up-to-date cabin baggage rules and regulations here.
If you have questions or concerns, please email or call us for more information.
Avian Influenza
Viettours operates trips in areas where there have been reports of avian influenza. We are experts in travel, not in medicine. We base our decision to keep traveling in these regions on information from three sources.
First, the United States Department of State: we will not run trips where there is a State Department travel warning. The State Department has posted an on-line fact sheet about avian influenza.
Second, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta: Click here to see what the CDC says about avian influenza.
Third, the World Health Organization: They provide a lot of information about avian influenza.
We understand that even the thought of avian flu might make some people reluctant to travel. For those of you who do decide to book a trip with us, we strongly recommend that you purchase the insurance package of some company as Prudential, Manulife (if you are the US residents, please contact Trip Mate at 1800-888-7292. |
